Love, Round the Clock

Hi everyone, Mou here with my very first post for the Sizzix blog!

This layout is about my son and his puppy and the love they share. Let me show you the steps to make it.

die cutting
1. Emboss cream/white/ivory cardstock using Texture Boutique Embossing Machine and Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Measuring Tape. It's okay to use any one color of cardstock. I used different colors because I like to use up my neutral scrap cardstock left over from other projects.

2. Leaving about 2" from top, start attaching the embossed pieces on a kraft cardstock as shown.

3. Stitch to secure all the embossed pieces in place.

4. Apply a thin coat of white acrylic gesso on the embossed area to prepare the surface for coloring. Let dry.

5. Doodle and scribble on the primed embossed surface with watercolor pencils. Blend the colors here and there with a wet paint brush.

6. Die cut some embellishments from cardstock using the BIGkick Machine and Originals Die - Heart Lock & Keys and Bigz Die - Weathered Clock.

7. Color the die cut lock and keys, weathered clock and hands using watercolor pencils.

8. Use foam tape to attach the colored die cut weathered clock to the layout.

9. Attach the two hands of the clock with a brad.

10. Tuck the 2" x 3" photo inside the clock.

11. String the colored die cut lock and keys with baker's twine and hang them next to the photo.

12. Add foam tape to die cut shapes to add dimension.

13. Secure the top ends of the baker's twine with staples.

14. Stamp or write your journaling/sentiments at the top and bottom of the page.

15. Color around the stamped area with watercolor pencil and blend with wet paint brush. Highlight some of the words with another color of watercolor pencil to finish.

Thanks for stopping by!
