Die Cutting Paper: Christmas Packaging

Hello everyone! Are you needing some Christmas packaging ideas? If so, this project is just for you! Every year at this time I make about fifty Christmas favors for my Mother to hand to her clients and this year they will be receiving this little package.

die cutting
Using the Pro Box Die, die cut from patterned paper and fold along the crease lines (this makes the next step a little easier to see), then place a piece of double back tape along the side of box. To make the window, place the larger heart from the Movers & Shapers Mini Hearts Set onto the Movers & Shapers Base Tray, place the die cut box on top of the heart die (make sure you are cutting the front portion of the box) and run thru machine.
After die cutting, machine stitch around the front of box and the heart if desired. Remove the paper from the tape and adhere to the other side of box. Fold the bottom of box and set aside.
For the bow, die cut five medium and seven large strips from the Create a Bow Die. After die cutting, use a brad of your choice to assemble the bow.  Add a piece lace, then start with a medium strip and continue until you have all the strips on and you have a bow...
...like this.
To keep the flap closed, I bought some adhesive hook & loop fasteners and simply adhered the velcro tab to the inside of the flap and the other to the front of box... works beautifully!

Fill your box with treat or gift. Adhere the bow to the top of the box. Cut two pieces of fabric tape or you could use patterned paper and adhere underneath the bow.

Attach a tag to the side of bow by tying it with some jute string. I wrapped the string all the way around the paper bow and then tied a bow to the left side.

Using a four inch doily, apply adhesive and set the box down in the center of the doily. Fold the edges up onto the box.

You are all ready for gift giving that is sure to put a smile on someone's face! By the way, I put my treats in a cellophane bag but, you could easily cut a piece of heavy cellophane and adhere to the inside of box.
