Yesterday I shared with you my review of Ebony Love's book about die cutting fabric, The Big Little Book of Fabric Die Cutting Tips . Today I wanted to share with you a little more information about Sizzix's Quilting & Appliqué collection.
Sizzix.com has an entire page dedicated to quilting and appliqué. You can find that page at: http://www.sizzix.com/shop/sizzixquilting. On that page you will find an overview of the two machines we offer that work with the quilting and appliqué dies, the Big Shot and the Big Shot Pro. If you already own one of these two machines for papercrafting you will be thrilled to know that they are the same models that can be used for quilting.
The Quilting & Applique page on Sizzix.com also shows the different dies we offer in the following categories: Strips, Geometric, Traditional Piecing, and Applique. Many of our other dies from outside of the Quilting & Applique collection also work well for fabric. Many people ask if you can use our other dies with fabric. The answer is yes! Our steel rule dies (Bigz, Movers & Shapers, On The Edge, Scoreboards, etc) will cut fabric and are the same construction as the dies in the Quilting & Appliqué collection. Our Sizzilits and Framelits dies can also cut fabric depending on the fabric.
On the Quilting & Appliqué page, we also include a link to a gallery of quilting, appliqué, and other fabric projects. Each project also includes instructions and supply lists. Along with the inspiration gallery on Sizzix.com, we also regularly feature projects here on the Sizzix blog featuring sewing, fabric, and quilting.
Finally, I want to share with you four video links from our Sizzix You Tube channel that feature Sizzix Quilting Spokesperson Linda Nitzen. These videos are a great way to learn more about applique and quilting with die cutting and Sizzix.
How is that for a ton of fabric inspiration? I am so inspired to start quilting! I hope the posts yesterday and today have given you a little more insight into quilting with Sizzix and has inspired you to try something new!
