Since I wanted a larger base for my card, I did not use the Pop `n Cut base tray to create my outside card. I did use the system with the Label Insert and then added that portion on the inside my card.
Start by creating a 5-1/2” x 5-1/2” card base out of cardstock and then cover the
front with a 5-1/4” x 5-1/4” piece of patterned paper. Use your Fence die to cut two pieces out of brown and then cut both
fences down with your paper trimmer making them approximately 3” tall. One fence
will be used on the front and the other on the inside.
Use the Birds #3 die to cut all the pieces you need to create
the smaller bird using cardstock and coordinating patterned paper. Assemble the
fence and bird on the front of your card as shown in main example. Stamp
sentiment and cut out and add to card front also.
Use the Flower Layers & Leaves die to create three flowers and
leaves. Decorate each flower with a button threaded with embroidery floss and
attach them all to the lower right hand portion of your card front.
Use scissors to trim excess flowers and leaves that go off the edge of your
card.
For the inside of your card, insert the Label Insert into the Pop `n Cut base tray die (don't forget to line up your tick
marks!), and lay a piece of cardstock that is 5” long and approximately
4-1/2” wide over the main section of the Label centering it as best as you can.
Make a sandwich with your cutting pads and roll it through your Big Shot machine.
Use a craft knife to make a slit on the upper fold line of the Label
Pop `n Cut that is approximately 1/2” wide (example shown in white
above) - you will be sliding your tree through this slit. Start about a
1/4” to the right of that left side opening. Fold the Label Pop `n Cut as shown
on package instructions.
Glue down your Pop `n Cut Label piece to the inside of your card.
Place your tree top on the top left portion of the inside of your card and glue it down. Cut approximately 1” off the end of your tree trunk and slide it down through the slit. Place the top portion of the tree trunk on the tree top to make sure it will be centered correctly – it may be necessary to trim the end of the trunk down a bit more – and then glue down.
Use the Birds #3 die to cut the required pieces to make the bigger bird using cardstock and coordinating patterned paper.
Glue down your fence that you previously cut to the Label portion of the Pop `n Cut. Assemble your bird and glue it down over the fence.
Stamp your sentiment onto white. Cut a thin strip out of coordinating
cardstock to tuck underneath the top of the sentiment block and use the Borders & Hydrangeas die by Eileen Hull to create
a scallop and tuck that border scallop underneath the bottom portion of the
sentiment block. Glue everything together as shown.
Cut one more flower and two petals using the Flower Layers & Leaves die, decorate the flower with a button and embroidery floss and glue down to the inside of your card as shown in example. Once you’re done, go back and outline the front and inside of the card.
You’re card is now complete! Fun on the outside and in… who wouldn’t love that?!
