Altering the 3-D Lantern into Hot-Air Balloon Treats!

Hello! It's Tiffany here with another fun Design Team Tutorial! This time, I'm showing you how to use that fun Karen Burniston 3-D Lantern Bigz XL Die to create fun Hot-Air Balloon Treats for any occasion!

Materials: 2 things to act as a hot-air balloon basket (Mason Jar filled with treats, mini cupcake), 3-D Lantern Die-Cuts Large and Small, 2 circles (1 3/4", 3 1/4"), 2 lollipop/cakepop sticks (skewers will work as well), Scor-Tape/Red Line Tape, hot glue gun, and embellishments (I'm using the American Crafts Amy Tangerine Collection of papers & Embellishments).

Before I began, I made 2 Hot-Air Balloon Baskets/Bases. I used my Sizzix eClips Electronic Die-Cutting machine and eCAL software to cut a cupcake wrapper (grass cupcake wrapper svgcuts.com).

I also cut the words "for you" (bean pole font) from my decorative strip, and my 2 circles (1 3/4", 3 1/4").

To begin, die cut the pieces necessary to make 1 large and 1 small hot-air balloon using the 3-D Lantern Bigz Die. Die cut one tabbed side from each die-cut, this will be the altered top of your hot-air balloon.

Add adhesive according to the assembly instructions and to each perforated tab as show below. Repeat with the die cuts for the small hot-air balloon.

Assemble the base according to the assembly instructions. Take the long strips with the adhesive on them and adhere to the die cut circle as shown below. Repeat with the small die cuts.

Add hot glue to the end of your skewer/lollipop stick and place it on the inside of your hot-air balloon in the center. Allow it to dry completely & repeat for your small hot-air balloon.

Place it upright into your treat container or into a cupcake, and, it's ready for embellishments!

I used American Crafts Amy Tangerine paper leaves which I snipped into feathers and some hot pink baker's twine to embellish mine!

Thank you so very much for stopping by!
