Wishing you...springtime card!

Spring is here! It's time for flowers and butterflies. I'm so in love with the new Tim Holtz Tattered Flower Garland Decorative Strip die, it's amazing how many flowers you can get from a two inch piece of cardstock.
To create this card cut a piece of green cardstock 4 1/4" x 11" (Core'dinations Distress Collection in Peeled Paint) then score and folded the card in half.
Now choose a few colors to die cut your Tattered Flower Garland. These new Sizzix Cut & Emboss Collection cardstock stacks by Core'dinations are prefect for the Sizzlits Decorative strips.
I die cut the Flower Garland using my Vagabond.
Here are all the Flowers and Leaves you get using only one piece of each color. Amazing!
Ink the outer edges of the flowers with Distress Ink (Wild Honey, Dried Marigold and Worn Lipstick) on an ink blending tool.
Add a generous coat of Rock Candy Distress Stickles to the flowers and butterfly. Let dry. After the Distress Stickles has dried assemble your flowers with glue dots and add a gemstone to the center.
I love the look of the Distress Stickles when it dries it's like a sugar coating.
Using the Springtime Background and Borders Set from the Tim Holtz Alterations line emboss the Butterfly Border several times across the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white cardstock. I started at the top and worked my way down. When putting the cutting pad on top of the embossing folder do not cover the previously embossed area or it will flatten out.
Now that your image is embossed ink the raised areas with Distress ink (Wild Honey, Dried Marigold and Worn Lipstick) on an ink blending tool.
Next tie a little piece of tule or ribbon around your card.
Using the Mini Labels set from the Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers line. Die cut the label from green and white cardstock. Stamp you message using Monarch Orange Archival Ink onto the white cardstock. Cut the green label in half lengthwise.
Adhere the green by shifting it off the top a little and bottom a little.
Add the flowers, butterfly and message label using pop dots or glue dots.

You will love making flowers with this Beautiful Flower Garland Die. I know it's going to be a new favorite of mine.

Enjoy your day!

  1. Gorgeous card, Richelle! I love the tip about cutting the Mini Labels piece in half so that it works as a mat. Will definitely be using that idea!
