Happy Halloween!

Hello, Friends!

Happy Halloween!  Wow, can it already be the 31st of October?!?  I bet your house is getting ready for the Halloween festivities, just like ours.  Sadly, my oldest has a college test tonight, so she is stuck inside.  The younger one and I might head over to our church for some fun.  :)

Since I figure you've seen enough Halloween for this year, I thought I'd share this cute Monkey Page with you.  :)

Instructions:

Create a scrapbook page base from a sheet of cardstock. Cut "Phrase, Monkey Around," several "Leaves, Multi" and several "Monkey #2" from cardstock using the eclips machine and Oliver Cartridge. Cut a "Baby Banner" from cardstock using the eclips machine and Olivia Cartridge. Layer colors to assemble and embellish shapes with a black pen and white paint pen. Attach a square of white cardstock to the page, tucking a set of Leaves and a Monkey under it and adhering in place. If desired, embellish with stitching. Crop photos to size, mat on cardstock and adhere to the page. Add shapes to the page as shown.

Happy Halloween Spiderweb in a Frame

Hello, Friends!

I love this frame by Deena.  It's the perfect decoration for Halloween.  :)

Instructions:

Trim a piece of patterned paper to fit inside a frame to form a mat. Die-cut a Spiderweb out of cardstock and embellish with chalk. Adhere to the mat. Stamp a sentiment onto cardstock, trim to size, ink edges and adhere to the matting using foam dots. Embellish with a decorative button. Place the mat inside of the frame. Embellish with flowers, tulle, ribbon and a decorative button. Die-cut a Cat out of cardstock using the base tray and Mini Cat & Raven Movers & Shapers magnetic die set, embellish with glitter and attach to frame.

The featured die today is the Flower, 3D #2 . This flower is packed with possibilities. On this die you will find four types of flowers to make. You can combine them or use separately. How can they all fit on here? They are designed to be used with paper or fabric that is folded into quarters or eighths. You place the open corners on the die edge and cut. Spiderweb Embellished Burlap Bag

Hello, Friends!

Here's a great idea for making your own Halloween Treat Bag! 

Instructions:

Die-cut a Spiderweb out of black felt and adhere to a store-bought burlap bag using craft glue. Be sure to place a sheet of paper inside the bag to absorb the excess glue that seeps through the burlap. When dry, remove the sheet of paper from inside the bag. Die-cut Pumpkin Jack from orange and green felt and batting, pin materials together and stitch in place. Die-cut a hanging spider (from the Candlelight Fright die) out of self adhesive felt and attach to the pumpkin. Embellish with a ribbon bow. Adhere the pumpkin to the bag. Place treats in the burlap bag and secure closed. Embellish the top of the bag with buttons, ribbon and a tag. For the tag, we stamped "Boo" onto a piece of cardstock, trimmed to size, inked edges and matted on patterned paper.

Sizzix Fresh Vintage: ScoreBoard Suitcase

Only 2 weeks left in the Fresh Vintage blog hop! I hope you have been having fun checking out all of the great projects posted by the talented designers who are participating. I know I have gotten tons of ideas for ways to use my diies more effectively. It's all about looking at them and seeing more than what it says on the label.

The featured die today is the Suitcase. This is a ScoreBoard die which means it should be used with a thick material like matboard or chipboard. ScoreBoard dies make beautiful sturdy boxes, totes and books... great for special occasions and events where you need to make a lot of them. The beauty of die cutting is that they all come out the perfectly every time! And then you get the fun part- embellishing!

Happy Halloween Spooky Tree Card

Hello, Friends!

This card by Deena would make a great Halloween invitation!  :)

Instructions:

Cut a piece of cardstock to size and fold to form card base. Cut a piece of patterned paper fit across the card front, mat on patterned paper and attach to the card base. Cut the "Spider Web," "Spooky Tree #2" and "Phrase, Happy Halloween #2" shapes from cardstock using the eclips machine and Halloween & Scaredy Cat Cartridge. Attach the Spider Web to the card front (in upper right and lower left corners) and trim away excess. Attach the tree and words to the card front. Embellish with ink and threaded buttons. Wrap a ribbon around the card and tie in a bow.

Boo Card

Hello, Friends!

I love Halloween.  Not the big scary, zombie and monsters Halloween, but the sweet pumpkin little kid version.  ;)  I think that's why I'm drawn to this card by Debi Adams.  It's 'almost' scary, but at the same time, it's just sweeter.  ;)

Instructions:

Cut a piece of cardstock to size and fold to form card base. Emboss a sheet of patterned paper using the Cobwebs embossing folder. Apply ink or paint to brayer and roll over image. Trim and adhere to card front. Stitch on one side. Punch a circle out of cardstock. Die-cut Gothic Boo out of cardstock, embellish with glitter and adhere to the circle. Attach to card using foam dots. Wrap a ribbon around the card front and tie in a bow. Embellish with a threaded button. Die-cut Bats (from Bewitching Hour) out of cardstock, embellish with flocking and adhere to card.

Halloween Inspired Wall Hanging

Hello, Friends!

Decorating for the holidays is always a special time in our home.  I'm always looking for ways I can decorate using things I can make.  That way, my decorations mean more to me.  (Handmade is always better!)  ;)

This wall hanging my Debi is sure to inspire you to create something for your home.

Instructions:

Cut a piece of mat board to size and cover with patterned paper to form a frame. Punch holes at the top corners and add a ribbon for hanging. Emboss vellum using the Halloween Print embossing folder, trim to size and attach to the frame, paint on glossy accent and allow to dry. Wrap a ribbon around the frame and tie in a bow. Die-cut the candelabra (from Candlelight Fright die) out of cardstock, embellish with markers and glitter, and attach. Die-cut a cat from cardstock using the base tray and Mini Cat & Raven Movers & Shapers die set and attach. Embellish with threaded buttons and a small flower. Stamp a sentiment onto cardstock, trim to size and attach to the ribbon bow with string.
