Purple is Best.

Hello, Friends!

Happy Memorial Day to my American Friends!  I hope you take some time today to reflect on all of the men and women that have given their lives for our freedom!  :)

Recently, I was in Boston, MA teaching a class to retailers.  One of the projects I taught was a home decor item designed by Beth.  Not only was it really fun to teach, but it's one of my favorite all time projects!  {AND, it is PURPLE!!!  The BEST color in the world!}

{Make sure you check out the beautiful doily on this project!  It was cut using the eclips!}

Instructions:

Stretch fabric onto hoop and tighten. Adhere patterned paper over the fabric and trim to size. Cut a Round Doily from cardstock using eclips machine and Easter cartridge. Adhere to the hoop as shown. Die-cut two Vines w/Leaves from green cardstock and embellish using peeled paint distressing ink. Adhere to the hoop. Die-cut a Rosette from cardstock and fold along perf lines to assemble. Adhere to the hoop centering over the Doily. Die-cut a Banner from white cardstock, stamp with a sentiment and ink edges. Use a pencil to slightly curl the Banner and adhere over the Rosette. Cover a piece of mat board with black felt. Die-cut Birds out of the covered mat board. Adhere the Bird with legs to the bottom portion of the hoop. Adhere the remaining Bird at the top of the hoop, trimming the bottom of the Bird if necessary. Die-cut three 3-D Flowers out of cardstock. Emboss smallest flower using an embossing folder of your choice. Use sandpaper to highlight embossed design on the small Flower. Assemble the three Flowers and adhere at the base using small amount of glossy accents. Set aside to dry. Adhere Flowers to the left of the Doily as shown. Cut Leaves using the pieces feature (from the Flowers w/Leaves shape) in a variety of sizes from cardstock using eclips machine and Decorate Your Life cartridge. Stamp leaves with a background stamp. Ink one edge of each leaf using peeled paint distressing ink. Apply adhesive to the front of each Leaf. Apply crystal glitter to the front of each Leaf and set aside. Adhere Leaves as desired, tucking the stems under the Flowers and Vines. Tie a ribbon bow and adhere under the Flowers.

Albums, Bags and Boxes

Hello, Friends!

My favorite cartridge for the eclips is the Albums, Bags and Boxes.  Why?!?  Because it SCORES!  Not just a dash, dash, dash (like our competition).  Instead, it really scores!  It scores and cuts at the same time!  Oh, yeah!  ;)

Guess what they gave me the other day at the office?!?  The new cartridges that will be released at CHA Summer!  ;)  I've been having a BLAST playing with the new shapes!  ;)   I can't wait to share them with you!
Until then, check out this cute bag by Beth....

Instructions:

Cut a Scallop Bag out of patterned paper using the eclips machine and Albums, Bags & Boxes Cartridge. Fold along score lines of the Bag and assemble. Cut the Photo Corners, Swirly out of cardstock using the eclips machine and Starter & Rockin' Janie cartridge. Adhere cut outs to the Bag. Embellish with paper flowers, velvet leaves and ribbon.
