I'd Like to Introduce...

A friend of mine.  :)

His name is Jonathan Fong and we've known each other for about seven years.  (More on that later...)  Anyway, he has a new web show called Style with a Smile.  Recently, he had on his first guest, one of our licensed designers, Eileen Hull.

Check out the episode....

Can't see the video? Click Here!

Fun, huh?!?

Jonathan and I met in 2004 on the set of a craft (pilot) show we were taping for HGTV.  We were cast (along with Ellen Allen) as the 'Craft Experts'.   Sadly, the show didn't get picked up.  :(  But, we had a great time getting to know each other.

Just for fun, I dug up some photos from the set....
"Lounging" on the set...

A fun picture...

The Three Craft Experts
It's kind of funny to see that both Jonathan and I are much more 'blonder' now!  ;)

Jonathan...I bet you didn't think I would find these pics!  ;)

Make sure you tune into Jonathan's show often...now that he has 'discovered' the Big Shot...who knows what he will come up with next! :)

Yes, we do fabric!

Last week when I was on The Shopping Channel (Canada), I was asked over and over "Does the Big Shot cut fabric?"  The answer is YES!  ;)

Our steel rule dies do cut fabric!  Here's a great project by Debi a that showcases this technique...

Instructions:
Apply fusible web to a variety of fabric as indicated on manufacturer’s instructions. Die-cut Heart and Swirls out of fabric and adhere to the front of a baby outfit. Die-cut large Butterfly two times out of fabric and once out of batting. Sew batting between fabric Butterflies with right sides facing out. Die-cut smaller Butterfly out of coordinating fabric and adhere to large Butterfly. Attach to the back of the outfit by stitching down the middle of the Butterfly. Embellish with ribbon.

Supplies:

Other Supplies: Baby Outfit, Batting, Fabric, Fusible Web, Iron, Ribbon, Sewing Machine

With the help of your Big Shot and Sizzix dies, you can make your own embellished clothing!  ;)

I'm Back!

My trip to Toronto, Canada was definitely a quick one!  ;)

I landed at 10:30pm Tuesday night, went on the air four times on Wednesday, and then left my hotel at 3:50am on Thursday to head home.  :)

Being on The Shopping Channel was really fun.  I've been on QVC many times, so I knew pretty much what to expect, but there were some differences, too.  All in all, the trip was successful.  If you didn't get to catch the airings, you can see videos on their website.  The Shopping Channel

I was told Tim Horton's was THE place to go, so of course I had to check it out!

Can you say YUMMY?!?!

Oh, and YES, it was cold!  Haha...I'm a California girl, through and through, so the 10 degree weather was pretty cold.  ;)  You should of heard everyone at the office laughing at me when I told them I didn't have a heavy jacket.  ;)  {I don't think they sell jackets in CA that would keep me warm in 10 degree weather!}  :)

Anyway, I can't wait to go back.  I met a lovely scrapbooker/crafter, {Hi Carmi!} and hopefully I can stay longer next time to do some site seeing.

Happy Crafting!
