ScoreBoard Rocks!

Hello, Friends!

I'm often asked about Eileen Hull's ScoreBoard Dies.  Talk about love!  I can't get enough of these dies!  They are great for cutting thicker items (think mat board!).

Check out this great project by Deena...

Instructions:

Cover two piece of mat board with patterned paper. Die-cut Bag, Caddy out of covered mat board. Embellish with ink, fold along the score lines and assembled using extra-strong bond, double-sided tape. Die-cut embellishments (also from Caddy Bag die) out of cardstock, embellish with small jewels and adhere to the Caddy. Die-cut Flower Layers #9 out of patterned paper, layer, embellish flower center with a button and string and attach to the Caddy. Stamp sentiment on a tiny tag and attach to the Caddy. Place gift in Caddy and fill with shredded paper.

Supplies Used:

  1. Do you have a particular brand of tape you would recommended for this project? I own a few of the scoreboard boxes and I have the worst time getting them to hold together. I have tried various kinds of tape and glue but nothing has yielded a permanent solid bond. Help!

    Thank you,
    Sandy

  2. Hi Sandy,

I use Therm O Web Super Tape. (It's orange before you peel off the backing).

Also, make sure you really fold down the scores....I tell people to fold them down all the way...you won't break the score line, so make sure you fold it well. This will make it easier to adhere.

    Stephanie

  3. Sandy,
You can also use your Crop-o-Dile and punch a few holes where the sides line up and add brads to reinforce the join. I use ScorTape to hold the boxes together because you can tear it instead of having to cut the red line tape. But they both work great.
Stephanie, great tip about completely folding down at all the score lines to breakl the fibers! Thanks for showing this cool project and glad you like ScoreBoards :-) Eileen

  4. Thank you for the adhesive advise! I will give both of these suggestions a try.

    Best,
    Sandy
