Who's Birthday?!?

Debi is sharing a great birthday theme with us today....

Take it away, Debi....

Well, it’s another birthday in the art room and another opportunity to show what fabulous dies and e-clips cartridges we have. I created a banner using our Starter Kit Cartridge (#655934). The sentiment was created first in standard font then cut in another color using the shadow feature. The branch and owl were cut by hand from paper- covered chipboard.

The Leaves (#656715) were cut from various shades of paper and stitched into a line formation. Very easy to do! I then attached them to the branches.

These treat bags added to the “owl” theme of the party. I used Tim Holtz’s die, Movers & Shapers, Ornamental for the head. Any of the larger leaf dies (#656714 or #656715) will work for his arms and Hearts (#656335) formed the feet. I hand cut the beak.

Finally, I created a “tree” using two trunk bases that were slit so that one side slid into the other. The middle base was a toilet roll holder, painted and tabbed at bottom. Our Big Shot Pro Scallop Circle die served as the trees leaf base. To support cupcakes or other treats, remember to cover chipboard with your choice of paper then die-cut the Scallop Circle. These make up the foundation of the tree. Next, cut several Scallops from just paper to make the branchy stuff on top. Cut them in half, then fold in half so that Scallops to Scallops meet. Create tabs on the straight edge side by scoring. Make tiny v cuts in the center of the tab section so that the tabs can be adhered to the base. Adhere in place. Cupcakes placed in our Cupcake Holder(#656142), makes it feel like it’s a tree!

Debi, what a great theme! Happy Belated Birthday, Jill! ;)

And now, a new eclips video!

Believe it or not, the eclips can actually realign the Cutting Blade to the last point before the Cutting Mat was unloaded. What a memory! Check out the video....

Gosh, I wish my memory was this good! ;)

Happy Crafting!
