This is the perfect, divinely feminine, centerpiece for a special birthday, anniversary or wedding. The surprise is that the cake is constructed of round boxes. At the end of the party, the recipient can open each layer of the cake and reveal wonderful gifts tucked inside each box.
The "cake" can be personalized easily, and of course, the colors and fabrics are up to you. Coordinating mini cake boxes can also be embellished for each guest as a party favor.
- Sizzix Machine
- Various Flower Dies
- Circular Cardboard Containers with Lids, Small to Large
- Cut many flowers out of fabric using your Sizzix Machine.
- Layer flowers with glue around the outside of the boxes and on the lids. Be sure to leave room at the top of the containers so the lids can go back on.
- Add little pom-poms or rhinestones to the centers of the flowers going around the boxes. You can also embellish the lid of the top tier.
For my fabric flowers, I used pieces of old summer dresses for a light and airy feel. You can also cut any shape out of fabric or decorative paper, such as hearts and stars. The more you layer, the more decadent your tiers will be. When setting your party table, place your tiered box cake on a lovely cake pedestal surrounded by fresh flowers.
