Happy Birthday Card

{May 11, 2010}

by Kim Roberto

Hi to all of my Sizzix friends,

As many of you know, gardening is one of my biggest passions. There is nothing like going outside to see my beautiful flowers in the sunshine. Here in Ohio, we have had a taste of warm weather but now are back to the cold and rainy days. So I decided to create a beautiful floral birthday card that will add a ray of sunshine to someone's birthday. This card is so easy to create, and it has an elegant, sophisticated look and feel.

1. Using Core'dinations cardstock, cut your card to 4" x 4".
2. Using Bigz Build a Flower #4 by Scrappy Cat, cut six flowers: two white, two darker green/blue, two lighter green/blue.
3. Using the Sizzlits Decorative Strip Lace Edging Die by Scrappy Cat, cut two lace strips with the polka dot design from white cardstock and set aside.
4. Using a darker shade of green/blue cardstock, cut a strip of paper that is 4" x 2".
5. Assemble your card, tucking the lace strips underneath the green/blue cardstock.
6. Add pop dots behind the first layer of flowers and stack the second layer of flowers using pop dots.
7. Embellish the centers of the flowers with Darice rhinestones.
8. Using Scrappy Cat's Happy Birthday clear stamp set and Scrappy Cat silver struck pigment ink, stamp the phrase "Happy Birthday."

  1. Great card and I love the way you used the flowers. Also the way they used the border to add more design elements to the card.
    Colors were great too.. More cards..I love cards as this is my special interest.

We'd love to hear from you!
